Maruf Sanni

Maruf Sanni is an Assistant Director (Research) at the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM), Nigeria. He has a PhD in Public Policy with a focus on Environmental Sustainability from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His research examines economic activities at the intersection of technological change and environmental sustainability. Specifically, his field of research includes low-carbon innovation development pathways, climate-resilient development, climate change policy. He has worked with the United Nations Development Programme as home-based intern. He also served as a research fellow at the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa, Accra, Ghana and International Centre for Science and High Technology of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Trieste, Italy. He recently completed a Marie Skłodowska- Curie Actions fellowship at the European Institute of Economics and the Environment, Milan, Italy. His project, ECO-innovation and the Dynamics of External Knowledge Sourcing (ECO- DEKS), examined the dynamics of alliance portfolio for eco-innovation in the manufacturing and service sectors in the developing countries. He investigated points of departure or convergence between the two sectors in open eco-innovation studies. He is currently the head, Technology Management Education and Training Department at NACETEM.
